Elena Fatkulina. Book publisher, writer, creative producer

Founded Trifoly Books to explore urban stories and paper ephemera worldwide. Illustrated books about cities.
I'm an author, creative producer, and publisher of books about cities.

Since 2005, I've been editor-in-chief of a city-focused independent media. Since 2021 — the founder of an independent publishing house based in Siberia. Over the years, I've launched a number of cultural and educational initiatives, including CreativeMornings Tomsk, the Urban Media School, and a city book festival. I'm the author of four books, with a total print run of 10,000 copies.

Since 2024, I've been developing Trifoly books, my new publishing venture.

My work explores the intersection of media, publishing, and the preservation of urban cultural and architectural heritage — with a special interest in paper ephemera, the overlooked fragments of everyday life that quietly carry memory.
City travel. Tomsk
A large illustrated book about siberian city
Shishkov’s Tomsk. A Guide to the Provincial City
Writer V. Shishkov lived in Tomsk, this guidebook leads readers to the places in the provincial capital that he visited regularly.
It's a full-cycle process: I develop the concept, write the text, act as an art director working closely with designers, illustrators, and layout artists, and oversee the entire print production.

I come up with the idea, write the book, and shape the finished product. For me, books aren’t just about text — they’re visual constructs, assembled from illustrations, archival photographs, newspaper clippings, and infographics. Every spread is a small map of meanings.
City guides
The guides takes readers through the heart of the old university city, telling stories of the many eras and notable figures who lived in Tomsk — and beyond.
